The UK NSC policy on Screening in old age

Policy Position

Following the publication of a randomised controlled trial funded by the Medical Research Council in the Lancet (see below), an assessment of screening in old age will be made against UK NSC criteria.

This policy was reviewed in Jul 2006 and significant changes were made. It is due to be considered again in 2012/13, or earlier if significant new evidence emerges.
